HAIR LOSS CONSULTATIONS IN IPSWICH SUFFOLK
If your hair is shedding or thinning, or your scalp is troubling you, the hardest part is often not knowing why. Hair loss rarely has one single cause; genetics, hormonal changes, stress, nutrition, scalp conditions and styling history can all play a part, and often more than one at a time. Everything I do starts with understanding what is going on for you, and there are three ways in, depending on where you are.
Hair & Scalp Consultation
This is where we look at the full picture. Over 75 minutes we go through your medical, hormonal and lifestyle history, your medications, supplements and anything you have tried before, and I examine your hair and scalp closely with trichoscopy, a magnified look at your follicles, hair density and scalp condition. We will talk about when things started, how they have changed, and what might be contributing.
You will leave with a clear explanation of what I have found, a better understanding of your particular hair or scalp concern, and a plan made for you. Depending on what I find, that might include a suggestion for blood tests, in-clinic treatments, home care and nutritional guidance. And if anything points to an underlying medical issue, I will guide you towards your GP or a dermatologist. Working alongside medical care is always the best route.

Scalp Health Check
If you are not sure whether you need a full consultation, this is a gentle place to start. Perhaps you just want to check how your scalp is doing or you have noticed itching or flaking
In 40 minutes I examine your scalp and hair under magnification using trichoscopy, looking at things like oil balance, flaking, inflammation and follicle health, and then explain what I can see in plain language. We finish with next steps. Sometimes that is reassurance and a few small changes at home. Or I will suggest a full consultation, a treatment, or a chat with your GP if something needs medical attention.
There is never any pressure to buy products or book anything further. My job is to give you honest information about your own scalp so you can decide what to do with it.

Review
Hair changes slowly, so progress is something we measure rather than guess at. At a review, we discuss how things are going, I repeat the trichoscopy and compare against your baseline images, so we can see what's actually changing. Then we make any adjustments keeping what is working, changing what is not, and updating your home care where necessary .

The Hair and Scalp Consultation is the full picture and suits anyone who wants a thorough assessment of what is going on, including your medical, hormonal, and lifestyle history alongside trichoscopy. The Scalp Health Check is a gentler starting point if you are not sure you need the full consultation, perhaps you simply want to check how your scalp is doing.

I examine your hair and scalp closely using trichoscopy, a magnified look at your follicles, hair density, and scalp condition. We also talk through your history, including anything you have tried before, so I can understand the full picture rather than treating symptoms in isolation. You will leave with a clear explanation of what I have found and a plan built around you.

Yes, a small amount of preparation helps me get the clearest possible picture of your hair and scalp. Please leave your hair unwashed for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Where possible, it is best to wear your hair loose rather than in a braided style, though if you wear locs or your hair is braided or weaved, this will not stop your consultation from taking place. It is also helpful if you bring pictures of the hair care products you use, with the ingredients labels showing, along with any shed or broken hairs and any other information you feel is relevant. Please also complete any information requested on your intake form ahead of time.

Yes. If anything I find points to an underlying medical issue, I will guide you towards your GP or a dermatologist rather than continuing with in clinic treatment alone. Working alongside medical care is always the best route where it is needed.

No. There is never any pressure to buy products or book anything further. My role is to give you honest information about your hair and scalp so that you can decide what to do with it, whether that means treatment, a few changes at home, or simply reassurance.

Reviews are normally booked every three to six months. Hair changes slowly, so this interval gives enough time for any change to become visible when I repeat the trichoscopy and compare against your baseline images. I will confirm a suitable interval for you based on your treatment plan, so that the comparison reflects meaningful change rather than day to day variation.
A Note on Expectations
Every consultation begins with an honest conversation. My aim is to give you a clear and accurate picture of what is happening with your hair or scalp, and what can realistically be done about it. I will never promise regrowth, as no one can guarantee that. What I can promise is a thorough assessment, straightforward answers, and a plan that reflects your particular situation. I work with all hair types, including Afro and textured hair, and welcome clients from Ipswich and across Suffolk, including Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, and beyond. No GP referral is needed to book.
